Original (KM#126) issued for the mother of Johann Georg I at Christmas. The popularity of this issue resulted in restriking until 1872. This coin is a restrike.
In Germany this coin is called a Sophiendukat and was first minted for Christmas of 1616 dedicated for the electrets Sopie. The coin became such a very popular godfather gift that the Dresden Mint minted this coin until 1872. Restrikes can be recognized with a slightly shorter legend AN SEIN KIND ERLEBT instead of AN SEIN KINDERN ERLEBT
